Great capture indeed! The clipping of the wings doesn't bother me at all, the sharpness of the eye, can clear decisive moment make the image.

 

How long did you wait for this shot?

Thanks for commenting. I was inside the hide for three full days, but had this and some other great shots when I came out. It was well worth the waiting:)

The clipping of the wings, IMHO, is a good thing as it lets you focus on the actual subject, the bird, his eye, and his feet just touching the water. I have the same problem with airplane phographer's that absolutely insist you must see the whole plane, with the wings/prop etc.
