glenn_stear 1 Posted April 21, 2007 If I were you I would forget about titles, too much effort is made on this site with titles, names, frames and water marks. The worst example I've seen was when an author's name took up 2/3 of the photograph leaving a mediocre photograph with a 1/3 of the frame! This shot has a lovely fresh, happy feel about it. Right girl, right horse, rotten fence! I personally would have liked to see more of the girl's right hand and get rid of that awful fence. Link to comment
foto zerüi 0 Posted April 21, 2007 Julie, this is your best in portfolio. You have mastered the use of a back lighting (with lightly done fill-in flash?). The use of the hat and sleeve to bounce light on the face is masterful. The composition is good. The picture tells a story. In such cases the caption may be redundant, but here it nicely complements the story in the picture. Your model is fresh and has a charming smile (unlike so many professional portraits on this site). When you succeed so well in a picture it is worth analysing why it went well, and applying the lesson in the future. Brava! John Link to comment
caincaptures 0 Posted April 21, 2007 Thank You Glenn and John for your comments. This picture was taken at the spur of the moment. The only thing I remember with this photo is trying to get the manual focus right, in a short time. The sun was pretty heavy. I just thought it was cute. Maybe means more to me because she is a city girl and has never really been that close to a horse. So the expression was real. Unfortantly Glenn the fence was my boundry. The fence stays. It's the real deal. Thank you both again for taking the time to comment. I appreciate the help and feed back. Link to comment
