I like the photo a lot. It's perfect sports documentary already the way it is. I seem to think about how it would look with a shallower dof and with a perfect alignment relaive to the floor patterns and roof bridges. The latter would make it a bit more graphic, but really, it is good the way it is. Not every photo needs to have a shallow dof either. Yep, I like it. Very good B&W conversion.

Thank you everyone for your comments. They are appreciated greatly.

Jan, Juha, and Dirk thank you very much for commenting on the B&W conversion. I tried it three different conversions before I was happy enough to put the photo up, so it is nice to hear you mention it. Juha, I agree with your comments on alignment. I have another one that I am working on that you might like better in that regard, although it is going for a blurred motion effect. It is amazing how fast they move up and down the floor, covering a lot of distance. I shot a lot of images, but only a couple of them I like. In each case, I had to prefocus on where I thought they would be (or rather wanted them to be). As rule closer is better in photography, and I do not frighten easily, but a couple of times I did get a bit nervous. There is a reason they are wearing the protective masks. It was fun though. I highly recommend it for anyone who gets a chance to photograph fencing.

Thank you, Dan

Great image Dan, showing all the action, I really like how you have captured these guys. The B&W works very well for this subject and location. Rich.

Ger, thank you for your kind words. All the lighting is from the room. I did have to dodge and burn a bit to bring the densities into line. Thanks again. Dan
