ideas would greatly help me hone my skills thanks for stopping by...

Great sharpness and DOF. The 135mm lens you used is my favorite when I get to use it. For a headshot, you may want to turn the camera vertical to get in closer and avoid all the empty space around her.

Thanks I love the lens but it is taking a while to get used to the soft focus feature...Lovely portfolio...any advice on wedding photos im thinking of getting started as well...

As far as the lens goes, I don't use the soft focus. To use it though, keep your aperture between 2.8 and 5.6. I got the lens because I like the sharpness, speed and length. It is probably the sharpest lens I have. With weddings, I have shot several for friends, and now people just call me all the time to shoot theirs. If you haven't done one yet, offer to shoot one or two for free and see how you do and see if you even like doing it. It's fun, stressful, a pain in the butt, and more fun. I get most of my business from handing out cards at weddings. I get a lot of phone numbers too, so that makes it worthwhile.

I've done one so far for a friend my camera broke the week they got married so I used the stores 30D.Took me a while to get use to the settings and controls...So i bought one and love it to death. I've been asking all my friends to let me know if they know anyone getting hitched so i can get some more practice...Thats whay I talked my friend into letting me do some head shots for her. Thanks for the advice.
