Clouds kept getting lower and lower

I like this shot a great deal, but it has a washed out tone to it, which I am sure has to do with the clouds, but I am not so sure this would not have been an even better shot (although with a different feel to it) on a day where some sun (but not too much) was slicing through the clouds. What a great location.
