All prostitutes are stars, my friend. The prostitute is the most celebrated professional in art history, from Mary Magdalene to Ukiyo-e paintings to Greek vases to Picasso to Van Gogh, prostitutes in art have enjoyed--yes, enjoyed--a long and illustrious history. In photography, the likes of Henri Cartier-Bresson have dabbled in the fine art of celebrating the doyens of the dark corner and cold streeets. In film, of course, they are real stars, with none other than Oscar winner Jodie Foster reprising the well worn part in Taxi Driver. So, contrary to your title, the prostitute, or the courtesan, or the geisha, or the ashawo as Fela, the late great Nigerian musician would say, is a star of the highest magnitude, always was and always will be.

for me Michael because the story of the photo alone is too powerful in itself to be affected by any color mood. You have touched the "dark reality" Michael. I think quite a few individuals use prostitution or having promiscuous sex with anyone as a mean to mask his/her emotional needs of love/affection.

 

Now, this folder really makes me...confused Michael. "Love and sex", i need to ponder on this. Catch you later. BTW, did i tell you i want to see more of this series?.
