It is not an effect, this is how the sun shined through clouds on the mountain in late afternoon hours.

Yeah, i realize that. Let me rephrase: I like the effect of the sun shining through surrounding mountains, to only light a certain section of the mountain, which you timed very well to show up only in the middle of the mountain...

 

 

Oy vey! Great capture, Erik. This is a very strong image and really nicely composed. Great exposure to get it right. Even the dark foreground still shows detail. Impressive.

beautiful erik! at just the right moment, the depress of the shutter and such great detail on all the gray areas also....wonderful capture...makes for a nice complimentary photo to the 'gold pool' one...a nice grouping coming together as a series...
