the contrast between the white snow and the dark sky, due to IR?, is too harsh. The little tree in the lower right almost disappears. All in all, imho, the picture lacks a central point. I don't know if I should focus on the house, on the tree, on the fading trees on the left or on the thunderstorm sky.

Best

Hi Luca, since the title was Countryside, imho I thought the person would consider the barn and surrounding area as the main focal point.

Hi Sondra, I think if 10 of us were to present our version of the image, maybe half would do a straight or nearly so version, and the rest do various things to it. This being one creative version. I have no problem what so ever with what the subject is. I felt darkening of the sky caused the viewer's concentration to be on the lower portion, and therefore, on the barn, which is obviously the main subject........Jim

Hi, Sondra,

I, for one, really like the shot and the contrasting light/dark areas. My eye is first drawn to the darkness of the sky, and then I have to search down the frame to the building. Nicely done, IMO.

Cheers

Hi Sondra, I think that the contrast of sky vs. earth and its contents are doing the image. giving a clue to the upper and lower weather, Nice IR.

Sondra, great photo and use of the IR filter.

On the con side, the image appears tipped to the left. I took a measurement of the white vertical corner board (near right). It's most noticeable if you look at the tree trunks along the road, above the barn.

Regards, Dave
