The lighting is very nice. Your model has potential. The snake cliche is overdone and overly Freudian. Could have been poster quality for those males over 16 except for the boobie-holding pose. I have a strong suspicion that there were much better images from the same shoot.

Yes, I have done quite a few sets with snakes, for several reasons...

a. The Anastasia Kinski photo by Richard Avedon was, way back when, THE photo that probably gave me the desire to work with models.

b. I think snakes " geometry " are a perfect complement to womanly curves. There are also a nice, easy to work with " prop ".

c. In the christian tradition the snake is associated with temptation. And I think we all agree the temptation was more than just an apple ;-D. Is that what you mean by " freudian " ? I like to try and capture the seduction power of women.

d. Many of my models want to make photos with snakes ( for their own individual reasons ) and, around here at least, photographers who will NEVER get close to these animals largely outnumber those who will. So I am only happy to oblige.

There are a lot of other photos in the shoot, some not appopriate for photo.net. I picked this one for her stare which is what I first look at in a photo.

About the only time I would enjoy being a snake.

The lighting intrigues me. What did you use?

Two studio flashes fitted with large softboxes (3'x4') placed on each size of the model ( and pointing slightly towards camera ) and two large (3'x7') styrofoam reflectors placed in front at 45 angle. Black paper backdrop. ( see attached floor plan )
