Sunrise Stratification

I love this! The composition and framing are excellent. I love lighthouses, and you have captured this one perfectly.

Yoor horizon is not level. I suggest when you make prints you correct that.

Yinka--Thank you for your comments on this shot and my other post as well. I'm actually at home (just down the road from you, in Virginia) for Easter so I don't have any editing software but will correct the horizon when I get back to Charleston. By the way, I took the last step of my medical boards earlier this week and I think it went well--we'll see! I should be back on here more now that my boards are out of the way and I'll be sure to make a stop by your portfolio--I apologize that I have not visited in so long. I assure you it is one of my favorite places on this website! And, as a devoutly Christian doctor, you are probably more like me than anyone else on photo.net so I look forward to following your work more closely in the future! Really nice light here! yup - gotta straighten those hoizons - actually pretty easy to do as you take the shot if you just pay a little more attention when framing it up - but it's one of those things people just don't pay attention to. This one is really nice. Congratulations on getting through your boards! I'm looking forward to the moon shots!

Cole, JK, and Jan--Thanks for all the comments. They are most appreciated! Jan--it may be easy to you, but I spent 2 minutes trying to level the horizon and NEVER get it level, especially when I'm zoomed out to 300mm like in this shot. I guess I'll just have to start correcting mine in PS. :) Did you see that I do have ONE moon shot in my "Life on the Docks" folder??? It's not very good...but I shot it and put it there just for you! :)

I'm glad you like this one, Lannie. I thought the clouds and shades of "sunrise burnt orange" made it interesting but it really wasn't received as warmly as I would have anticipated so your feedback and comparison if very valuable and appreciated!
