cherlyn 1 Posted April 15, 2007 I always wonder how kookaburras look like because of a childhood song that goes like this: Kookabura sit on the old gum tree, Merry Merry king in the world is he, Laugh, Kookabura Laugh, kookabura gay your life must be. This is a very beautiful shot with very good DOF & composition. Link to comment
mikeoday 0 Posted August 30, 2008 Thank you Christa for you kind words on this and other image. Much appreciated! All the best, Mike. Link to comment
lucyhollis 2 Posted September 10, 2008 Great moment captured. The babies look rather large to be still fed by the mother! Link to comment
vikneshn 0 Posted September 24, 2008 I call this a shot in a million.Very well taken. The bokeh is super smooth.Colors very natural and the moment is awesome. Link to comment
JamesMarkus 0 Posted November 9, 2008 I love the composition, but the gaussian blur on the background is a bit over the top. There are dark blurry halos around the subjects, and the background colors look unnatural. Certainly a rare shot, Mike. Assuming they are like their north American cousins the king fisher - perhaps they will visit the same perch again, and give you another shot. Link to comment
mikeoday 0 Posted November 23, 2008 Thank you all for your kind comments. Looking back at it now, I think I agree with you James that I could do better. I’ve learnt a lot in the two years since I captured this image and experimented with different processing. I’ll add this to the list of older images to rework. Thanks again. All the best Mike Link to comment

tranini 0 Posted December 24, 2008 Mike, this storytelling shot is amazing, especially for the fact that it is taken with the toughest Nikkor lens 80-400. Best wishes and Marry Christmas! Link to comment
