Matt Laur 2,201 Posted April 6, 2007 A handler has just won a leg of the Master Hunter title on his pointing dog, and is thanking the gunner and fellow handler for their contributions. The judges, on horseback, compare notes as they score. Thanks for your feedback. Link to comment
diver1 0 Posted April 6, 2007 I certainly hope for safety's sake that they don't hunt in the same places as Dick Chaney! Link to comment
Matt Laur 2,201 Posted April 6, 2007 Steve: I actually wrote a brief piece on that topic (aimed more at those of us that carry shotguns in the field than at everyone else). You can have any opinion you want about the man's politics/policies, but I guarantee he was devastated by that accident, and further guarantee that a great many very careful hunters out there were - if not sympathetic per se - were totally aware of how easily that sort of thing can happen. My grandfather lived the latter several decades of his life with some of his friend's birdshot in his scalp. It does happen! Eye protection, eye protection, eye protection! Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 24, 2013 Matt, I don't know the first thing about hunting or hunting dogs, but I love this shot. --Lannie Link to comment
