pnital 36 Posted April 4, 2007 Len, I like the forest composition with the diagonal trees( also the one that gos into the forest from L to R, and makes a triangle to the upright middles. My only nit IS the green that looks to me oversaturated. There are some yellow point of colors ( flowers) that are nearly lost because of the strong green, what do you say about reducing a bit the green? I think it will enhance the otherwise nice composition and accentuate the yellows.... Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 4, 2007 Sean, Velvia 50 plus my scanner = a bit of oversaturation, in this case, the greens. See attachment which is 25% lower in the greens. Pnina, Can't put anything past your eagle eye! Even as I posted I was thinking it was a bit too rich but decided to try to slide it through anyway. My bad! See what you think of your suggestion when implemented. Best, LM. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 4, 2007 Len, much much better! first the dark parts in the forest are better accentuated now, and the yellow flowers as well. I would have tried reduce it a little more, but that has to be seen if it will work, but I'm glad you did it it enhances the image a lot imo. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 4, 2007 I realise comments from beginners are rarely if ever taken seriously ;) But... I just couldn't resist! I really like the original composition... and your adjustments to the saturation have really enhanced the image, in my opinion. I'll be watching to see what I can learn from you. Thank you for posting. Angela Link to comment
seandepuydt 2 Posted April 4, 2007 Yes, much better than the original. I cannot always, or shouldn't comment on colors so much, but do, due to my monitor being very old. - Sean Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 4, 2007 Pnina, I feel there must be something wrong with my workflow or equipment if such a high degree of adjustment in PS has to be made to get an acceptable image. That said, not every image I scan has to be adjusted this strongly. Don't know yet where the problem lies & to top it off I seem to have misplaced the original slide. Best, LM. Angela, I take EVERYONE'S comments seriously as I seem to make more than the average number of boo-boo's. No one on PN can live in ignorance for very long before someone else calls attention to the error of one's ways; bad for the ego but great if you want to learn. Best, LM. Sean, I wouldn't be too quick to adjust your monitor as your work that appears on MY screen seems to be on a very high level. Always a pleasure to view your offerings. Best, LM. Link to comment
