What a wonderful, expressive portrait. I suppose they're really man's best friend. Such soulful eyes. One of the best of your recent crop of pictures, Mike.

This is a great picture and I just about jumped off the chair when I saw it!

Doing the YES! 7/7 (I haven't tried yet it better let me give it to you!)

THe angle and the look and the contrast!

THIS is a picture you would find when you walk into ANYWHERE and you would just stop and move your head to match the dog and go...

Ohhh... don't WHINE!

AND want to give it a TREAT!

IN FACT I almost always have a treat in my pocket.

Dogs sniff my (oh never mind)

HA

Hands down one of the best pet pictures I have seen on PN since I have been there and if this DOES NOT MAKE IT ON THE FRONT PAGE I WILL THROW A FIT!!

I guess you understand that I like it :)

CHEERS!

Well placed in the frame, Michael, & works well in B/W. It has got a doleful look & appealing eyes.

Wonderful capture of a beautiful companion. Compassion and love in the eyes denote the wonderful nature of most dogs that I have known or know. Love the square crop and the tilt of the head. Regards Anthony

What an amazing expression! An incredible picture from any perspective. It is also an interesting study in "anthropomorphism". Those that have not studied Greek may not know that it is the attribution of human charateristics to animals.

Does a dog really express compassion, curiosity, shame .. or is it us that identify these qualities with a familiar look? Or is it an animal that has learned simply to mimic human behaviour? A fascinating study in morphics and possibly psychology too. A wonderfully crisp image too. I wish I could do such things with my D80.

This angle is exactly what I felt! The personification of feeling that this dog is almost human with human like qualities not unlike that mannequin that Michael takes pictures of. I feel like that mannequin is alive when I see his pictures. The feeling like it takes a life of its own.

You, John are very right! :) ~ love it!
