An Unforgettable Face!

This unforgettable face was spotted recently in Ukraine and

photographed while I was in a conversation (and never skipped a beat

during the conversation -- just stepped sideways for a couple of

When I am in Ukraine, like now, people say I am 'in love' with the

'babushkij' (grandmothers) but they don't see it like you or I.

I do see it just as you describe it -- lives of character, often coming to premature aging for the men, and fuller, longer lives for the women, but husbandless and full of strength, very stoic.

All reflected in faces like these.

A shot like this takes almost no skill, except pointing and shooting (as well as 'seeing the subject' yet it has 'impact' and therefore gets higher ratings because she is a heck of a subject).

Oh, well.

I wish some of my works I travailed harder for would do so well/I can think of one with 17 comments and only 9 ratings that I consider among my very best, but it's 'black and white' and 'street' -- two strikes against it.

Again, oh well.

I knew when I saw her, as I was engrossed in conversation with a beautiful young woman, I could not break the conversation and I could not not (intentional double negative) take the photo, so I did both simultaneously (talk and take the photo).
