katzpjs 50 Posted March 31, 2007 I have an ash tree at the corner of my yard and in the late autumn the red berries get very ripe and start to ferment. The crows, blue jays and robins gulp down the berries quite fast and I like to think that they get a bit "tipsy" on them, but they seem to fly okay afterwards. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 31, 2007 I've seen drunken birds, too - I thought one was injured one time, but he had been eating fermented berries. This is a dried blueberry - part of my "special" woodpecker mix. :) Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted March 31, 2007 Thanks, everyone. Guess this will be a contest entry! Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted March 31, 2007 This is well done. Can't judge it over the web, but I'm betting this will win, place or show! The rain has kept the birds away from all my feeders. Today is the first sunny day that your Pecker Food has been out. Hope the sun will bring them all back. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 31, 2007 Thanks, guys. Dennis, it's raining here today, so limited to umbrella shots and playing inside. I wanted to get back out to the ranch, but maybe tomorrow. Good luck with the pecker mix! Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted March 31, 2007 If the birds come out while it's raining, try getting as close as possible and get the drops on the birds... Could lead to a winner. I've gotten a few, but they didn't meet my sharpness standards... Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted March 31, 2007 This is great. It has real personality. It's always raining here. If I were to shoot birds, they would have to be parakeets. Link to comment
leroy laverman 0 Posted March 31, 2007 Nice capture. I think a little more room on top would be an improvement. The bird looks crowded to my eye. Can't tell with the small web image but some further sharpening could make this image really pop. I'll bet it makes a nice print. Link to comment
