kraig 0 Posted April 5, 2007 this site can be terribly frustrating at times...but then that's life... dealing with "people"...I'm amazed there aren't comments about this photo...I really like it...maybe a little tweaking here and there...the light coming from the subjects lower right corner almost competes with the red glowing object in the sky...however I like things not necessarily as they should be...I am also amazed at the low ratings...I think it deserves higher ratings... bottom line...good show.. dgv 1 Posted April 5, 2007 Thank you for your comments Kraig, I know that the light is not perfect but is a concept, is almost a childs picture, rather naive, in 5 billion years our sun begins to explode ...and what is man doing? Bless you. Link to comment
klatu 0 Posted May 10, 2007 I like this also. It is fun and simple and well done. congratulations, Michael Link to comment
teegee 0 Posted May 10, 2007 personally i am drawn into this composition by some very basic elements: the dark tracks fading into the vanishing point, the hue of the sphere in the sky, and the attitude of the model looking over his shoulder. it's a very quickly read image with impact and a subtle message for anyone taking a moment to ponder... congrats on another fine image. teegee Link to comment
bigpoleherbear 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Kraig is right, not enough people take the time to compliment such fine work. This place used to be cool when it was smaller, people appreciated it more i guess.Nice job Dimitris, keep up the good work ! Link to comment

stupski 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Conceptually, it works well. For the concept you mentioned, (for me), perhaps it is the blue of the sky that makes it still look a bit normal here on earth. And I am thinking (thanks to your shot), that perhaps a different color sky might lead the viewer more in the direction you want them to go (if that is possible)...and what color would the sky be at the end of time? Very, very interesting concept, with the landscape turned grey and that sun. Hope we'll still be playing music. Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted June 24, 2007 Raymond, I can only say thanks to a pro.D.L and ... still stand at the begining of the long road that would lead us God knows where...Thank you very much for your thoughts on the technical execution of the concept. Best wishes. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted December 27, 2008 There is something very end-of-time-ish about this photo. The austerity of the landscape coupled with the fireball in the sky creates a feeling of desolation. To me this is very reminiscent of the music playing on as the Titanic sank on its fateful voyage. This is very creative, and I love it. I hope you don't mind if I pass this along to some of my friends who play the bass. One of them has a lion's head scroll just like the one in this photo. Interesting though, you may have to be a string player to recognize this......but the bassist is playing backwards. The bow arm should be the right arm, and the left hand plays on the fingerboard. I'm curious to know if this was unintentional, or did you have a reason for doing it this way? I continue to be inspired by your photos, Dimitris, and thank you for your lovely New Year's card on my portfolio page! Happy New Year to you, as well! Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted December 29, 2008 Dear Christall, only a string player would notice the detail that you mentioned..-:). I rotated the cellist through 180 degrees and I don't think that it would really matter if I flip the picture round. Thanks for your input. Link to comment
