marcadamus 1 Posted March 30, 2007 They don't call them the Painted Hills for nothing! I was fortunate to observe this rare combination of light on a stormy day. Link to comment
yttergaarden. 0 Posted March 30, 2007 What a wonderful image. The colours in this photo are amazing and so is the formation on the hill. The compo and presentation are just great. Link to comment

cristaldi 0 Posted March 30, 2007 Great image, as usual Marc. Where is this wonderful place? Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted March 30, 2007 Khaled, IT IS ABSOLUTELY REAL! No manipulations of any kind here! My only adjustments were curves, a little dodge/burn, fine tuning the contrasts, and minor color adjustments. I made no color enhancment at all to the background hills! This is a National Monument in the state of Oregon. It is called the Painted Hills beacuse of the beautifully colored textures of the hills found here - truly like very few other places in the World. There are many, many other pictures that can be found from this place if you do some research, and they all showcase the same amazing color. The wet ground and direct sunlight against a stormy sky made the color on this day especially amazing. Link to comment
huhu-lin 0 Posted March 31, 2007 I don't think I have ever seen such treatment like this one, just one of kind! Your treatment lets the hill like some kinda painting. If you had never applied by some special filter of PS,I should say you got a pair of great eyes to know how to shoot to let this happen! I also admire your shooting life, just traveling and shooting,I hope I can go with you if you are lack of a partner,LOL!you know wild life is always in my mind! congrats on this amazing piece!Marc Link to comment

jsalge 0 Posted April 1, 2007 This is Stunning...What an amazing display of light and cloud you had to shoot with...and what a comp you found. Great shot! Link to comment
morteza.safataj 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Marc, This is really great shot and I'm wondered of pattern and how you captured this shot, You could control the light smartly as you always overcome. Link to comment
trevor_anderson 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Very well composed. Although not as colorful or dynamic as some of your other images, it still is one of my favorites. Link to comment
snapshot1 0 Posted April 6, 2007 I can see you fiddled w/ the curves a bit as the hills are one notch over realistic. Could just be internet low quality image. The stormy sky almost looks dropped in, but I have seen it like that at sunset & it is surreal. Still, it looks like a digital image. Not film. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted April 7, 2007 Nope. No fiddling with curves at all. Perhaps something lost in the web presentation. This would probably be a good time to get used to the look and feel of the digital image - I think it's here to stay. Link to comment

yinkamd 0 Posted April 7, 2007 You prove again why you have become my favorite landscape photographer, and, I believe, the one who carries the mantle of Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell. Thanks for the inspiration! Yinka Link to comment
aluf 0 Posted April 9, 2007 You have a very good eye. This is awsome. The sky is so dramatic and still - the mountains are soft and warm. This makes an very interesting contrast. Link to comment

ovidiu moise 0 Posted April 14, 2007 Superb use of the golden hour light. Never been there, but I've seen similar hills elsewhere, different color spectre, though. Congratulations, well done. Link to comment
ricklundh 0 Posted April 17, 2007 This scene is totally possible and realistic...at least as real as these odd hills can look. Superb light, and fascinating comp. Well done Marc. Link to comment

vincentfavre 2 Posted July 10, 2007 Hi Marc, I am a fan of your pictures and this one is quite different than those you produce frequently... very nice one, great colors and forms. Vincent Link to comment
marc_dilley 0 Posted February 8, 2008 Marc, this is another one of my favorite images of yours. I was going to write something about perfection, but then that could be applied to so many of your images that are wonderful but somehow don't impact me like this one. Funny, I have never visited this area; this shot just strikes a chord. The flowing, rounded lines all working in concert, the special light on the central hill.... I don't know. Thanks for sharing.
