davidmccracken 2 Posted March 29, 2007 David's photograph is infinitely more aesthetic than the one his model took. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment

blackdogstudio 1 Posted March 29, 2007 By the way, I have a self-portrait of my own: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=5726182. Will like your opinion on this one. Regards. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 29, 2007 I love everything about this, David. With one exception, and you probably know what it is without me mentioning it. But I'll mention it anyway. The backdrop. It works in that it pops the model off the backdrop, but for me it clashes too much with the skin tones. The overall detail in the shot is fantastic, of course. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted March 29, 2007 David: I love the concept nd the execution of the image but, like our friend Jim, the background does present a problem for me. A beautiful subject such as this lady deserves a better shade of green. As usual, this is only my opinion. I do like her placement to the left. Most peple would have put her dead in the middle. What kind of camera is she holding? As long as I have been doing this I have never seen one like it.i will keep coming back to it in the hope I will warm up to the green. -Owen Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 29, 2007 Chris, Just a bit of fun. I am glad you like it. Kelvin, Stunned? Stunned? That's my intelligent look! Jim, Yes! I anticipated your comment although I am very glad you made one. In all honesty, while I think the colour is awful, I personally think it gives the image character... Look at it for a while (perhaps a little more than you want to) and I promise, it will grow on you. Owen, My reply to Jim is relevant to you. The camera she is holding is a Canon Powershot G6. It's the camera I take out with me when I go drinking. Link to comment
eimages 0 Posted March 30, 2007 Cool shot, that fellow in the littel screen should be a model. Link to comment
glenwoodsherry 0 Posted April 2, 2007 David, With all due respect to Jim (whose work I admire greatly) I like the green background. It is a jaring color, an in-your-face, don't-ignore-me statement that the white background lacks. Plus the color is very much like the chroma-key green screen backgrounds that we use in video production. When I first saw it my thought was of a flirty model, working in front of a green screen, grabbing a camera and having fun. Made a lot of sense to me. But then, again... Some say "Toe-mott-toe"; some say "Toe-may-toe". In any case, a very cool image. Glenwood Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted April 3, 2007 I missed your comment until now. I am not sure why. I do agree with you with regard to the background. The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same things and P.N would be a boring place if we all took photos the same way. I am 100% sure Jim would agree. Link to comment
