Guest Guest Posted July 26, 2007 Beautiful...both the photo and the young lady. Again, I'd really like to know exposure data...shutter speed and aperture. I'll have to say the Type 53 is a bit grainy for my tastes, but that's just me...it doesn't really detract from the photo...it's just a different dimension to Polaroid work. So? When are you going to shoot some Type 55?!? Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted February 27, 2008 it's an nice portrait with that selfconsious look. It looks overexposed though with those blownout highlights. Link to comment
graham john miles 0 Posted February 28, 2008 I find the model quite captivating. However, the image although nice compositionally seems grainy and detracts from what I think could have been the most tactile part of the image, her skin texture. Is she free for dinner one evening??? Link to comment
robiek 0 Posted February 28, 2008 The BW Polaroid media 4x5" TYPE 53 isn't exactly so very grainy. Any and all pic's seen in my portfolio are very carelessly scanned into digital files (.jpg). I have not put much effort into scanning equipment or other computer gizmos, sorry about that...and probably won't. I still somehow still believe in negatives and prints in the old fashioned way. All my few polaroid tryouts are taken with a Cambo and a Schneider-Kreuznach Symmar-S MC 210mm f5.6 lens...probably two stops down (I had all the lights on in the room) and exposure time from Monday to Tuesday. Guest Guest Posted March 1, 2008 I like your thoughts on scanning and scanning/computer equipment. I think a photographer doesn't need a lot of high tech equipment to present photographs on the Internet. And no matter how good the equipment, an image shown on the Internet will never look as good as a real print. There is a lot to be said for doing things the "old fashioned way." Link to comment
