markboyer 0 Posted March 24, 2007 A lady cardinal. I think they're so pretty. We used to have one in the backyard in Connecticut, and I'd find myself waiting for her to show. You've captured her beautifully. Link to comment

dave_dube 10 Posted March 25, 2007 Kim, first and foremost ~ thanks for not cleaning up the feather and the beak! Bird photographers are very pleased. Now that I now the backdrop, do you have several post stuck in the ground at just the right angle? (the back drop still looks a little contrived, sorry) I'm thinking that your studio expertise has wondered into the field.Excellent Photo! Dave Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 25, 2007 I know the background looks like a studio shot, Dave. I tried a more natural color backdrop today, but wasn't happy with it. Now that the branches are greening up, I will let nature do her thing. Earlier, there were no leaves and the twigs were distracting. I am shooting at a woodpile; the birds seem to like it there. I've trimmed some of the branches and twigs, but haven't added any posts or stumps - they were all there. Next time I go, I will take a distance shot of the "bird" area so you can see where they are landing. Link to comment
