I love the light and BW tone David...the dark mud floor and traces really add mood...you've been pushing the accelerator lately as I like your latest postings very much ...congrats.

Thanks. I'm now retired, so I have much more opportunity to do photography. I think you are seeing some of the results of that right now. Plus, my trip to Montana and visit with Juan, provided me with a considerable number of images, so my pantry appears to be well stocked for the moment. I appreciate your feedback very much, Laurent, and don't be afraid to tell me what doesn't work. I may not always agree. but I will always try to respect your opinion.

I bet you had to tiptoe around that place and hold back any sneezing, eh? Could come down in a big boom, otherwise... I don't usually like much falling apart things, that inludes photos of, but I have to admit that your photos (at least some of them, to my taste) are done in such a way that I don't mind and get this...some of them I actually enjoy. This is one of them. Everything comes together well here. The shabbiness of this place is immediately evident, no guessing here. The mud witht the puddles underline it so well (and as an added bonus, your photo is not standing on a rocky ground, eh eh eh); so does the gray, cloudy, sky. I usually view power lines going across a frame as a nuisance, a distraction, but in this case they only overline (sorry, underline is taken by the mud) the overall end-of-its-days story. Tonally, this photo is great, as well. The same for contrast. IMHO this photo deserves the top rusty nails and peeled-off paint. BTW, does your truck has a V8 (engine)? Cheers, Micheal

If you don't much like falling apart rusty things, I'm not sure I know what you are doing hanging around my portfolio. After all, that's about the most that I do. Nevertheless, I'm glad you do hang out here and I enjoy your over the top commentary. Yes, this is gritty. It is what it is. The wires belong in the image as much as the dirt and the corrugated siding. Glad you agree with me. Cheers

And, yes, my pickup has a V8 engine.

I keep going back to your photos, because of how they come together. A good photo is more than just a nice visual journey. It's like a story that needs to have several threads coming together well. I think that your photos are like that. There are some photos I might not undestand, or like, and that's OK. I also think that we have a similar sense of humour, at least to some degree, which certainly helps, as well. BTW, do you think your car's V8 would run on V8? Or...instead of adding 10% ethanol to your gas, add 10% V8.

Cheers, Micheal

I totally agree with the superlatives that have already been said about this. It is gallery stuff, IMO. Everything about it is right on the money.

Thanks for the commentary and the too high rating. It's greatly appreciated. I think you would have found many of the Montana areas that Juan showed me quite to your liking.

David, the shot is without question, very good. I think I am actually more impressed with the subtle (invisible) touch you've given this image. It is an excellent b&w and has impressive tonal range. You attention and time given to the craft shows in every inch of this shot.
