Reflection in the eye

I like this image very much. I love the way the eyelashes and the two areas of mane hair complement each other. I like the subtle tones around the eye. And the composition itself - the way my eye moves around the image is wonderful. I have only one suggestion: consider a way to make the upper left-hand color less distracting. I'd suggest either cropping slightly differently or blur and desaturate it or something. I think the image would be particularly lovely in just the sandy and black-white-grey tones. The green foliage seems out of place to me. I hope you will work with this idea, because it is a very fine one, I think.

I like the emotion in the eye. I think that the photo would be stronger if the horse filled the entire frame; perhaps you could try a closer crop (and maybe changing to a vertical orientation).
