A part of a dance related to the music of the composer Saint Sance " The Carnival of the Animals", ( written in 1886).

Thanks for your impressions. Pnina

I almost missed the hidden head :-) Very well captured scene with a hidden emotion of (fear)? (angish?)(sadness?)

I like the actor and skin colour in the midle of the night...exposure and skin tone are superb...an expressive image I like for its simplicity....simplicity does not mean you don't have to fight to achieve it..well done Pnina...

Pnina, I agree that the skin tones are great. I'm curious about the manner in which it was exposed. Just point & shoot? Let the camera figure it out? If I tried shooting a high contrast scene like that with my 25 year old camera I'm sure it would overexpose the skin if I didn't input some - (underexposure) compensation. Are the current camera metering systems really that good? Whatever, fine job. Best, LM.

Really nice to read your evaluation.

Len, this and some others that will be uploaded later on were taken with my 30 D and lens 70-200 mm L. yes it was taken with ISO 1600, under exposed 1.67 FL-200mm. exposure time 1/500. NO flash, A priority. I have played a little later on with levels. and some small corrections, thats it.As it is taken while performing on the stage, it depends a lot of the light on the stage, when the light is directly on the dancers some of the frames are overexposed even I work with the under. but that stage that I work all the time with, there are places with lights but less direct light, and there I'm getting the good exposures.... I hope it helps.

Having tried some stage shots myself, I know how difficult it is to work with theatrical lighting. You have obviously mastered the approach. For some reason, this figure reminds me of Samson; the pose is well chosen, taut and expressive.

really, Pnina, you are a master at stage shots; not easy to shoot, but here the light is perfect and the atmosphere wonderfully conveyed.
