dave_dube 10 Posted March 17, 2007 Smallest macro I've attempted to date. Moth was less than 1 inch tip to tip. Light was coming in from outside with moth on window pane. Thoughts? Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted March 20, 2007 That is a magnificent magnification! The colors shine without blowing out the sparkling highlights in the makeup of the moth's wing. Good detail in the hair along the outside of the wing. Amazing patterbs ub tge colors and texture. Makes me wonder what the reason for all these things are. Do the hairs, for instance, give the flight more ability to stay aloft? Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted March 20, 2007 There seemed to be a white powdery substance on those hairs. There was another moth (same type) out this morning. I remeasured the wing and it's actually only 1/4 inch which would make this a 4:1 macro, I think. I'm new at the macro side of photography so it will be a fun year of exploring something new for my. kslonaker 0 Posted March 24, 2007 Thought this was a throw from the thumbnail! It would make a really interesting blanket, wouldn't it? :) Nice color & detail. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted March 25, 2007 Kim, now you've explained what I've been curious about in the ribbing of the wing. More loft!Dave Link to comment
