Although I feel sympathy towards the subject (the same amount as for anyone else in need of care and compassion), I don't see any sadness here at all. The same peace that is experienced by the dozing dog should be experienced by the master. All conditions are there equally. That what is real cannot be threatened, and what is not real does not exist. Then again, I am not the one in this photo so I could only philosophize :) Anyhow, this is one of my favorite photos.
