David, Love to see an artist that gets to the bottom of his art! Butt seriously (sorry), as a B&W image it is pretty damn good. Good tones, and the lighting is done perfectly. I thought, at first, that the image was too symmetrical for my taste, then I noticed the mole (or bug?) on her right cheek: Eureka! Asymmetry! I am a happy camper, now.

Wouldn't this be a better Friday image, a shot to round out the week? :) Must try something like this soon, it's very appealing.

Glenwood, I am amazed how a small mole can make you happy but I am glad it does.

Steffen, I guess that means the mole makes you happy too.

Chris, I must confess, I am not sure what you mean by a Friday image but I look forward to seeing your 'similar' shot.

Steffen,

What do you mean "not only the mole..."? What else is there?

David,

If you can do this for the end of the world, I can't wait to see the beginning.

Thanks for returning guys. Glenwood, I think Steffen is saying that he likes more than just the mole. See my reply to him above.

On the subject of 'beginnings' I used to photograph similar shots viewd from the other side. P.N. decided they were too much for the site. Some of the images were here for more than a year before they were removed. This particular example was never actually on this site but it did attract a lot of attention on other sites.

Yes, David is right, I mean the whole image. And David, the other one, no bad idea... :-)))))

Great shot and I like the composition and the dimples and the mole. Very original and the stretch marks make very "Real". The B & W well executed.

Complimenti, Marco.

Thanks Marco. I try to keep most of my photographs real! I am beginning to enjoy this B&W lark. I may even upload another one tomorrow. (Different subject though!)

Okay, David.

Several things: I know that some of my comments (the whole mole thing, in particular) might be considered a bit cheeky, but let it be known that I consider you a remarkable craftsman and artist (a rare feat), and very few people but yourself could have pulled this image off. If it wasn't for the perfect derriere, lighting, composition, yada, yada, yada, it would not have been worthy of a comment, much less a joke. Bravo on the image.

Second, thanks for including the link to the other site. What a great image! I laughed so hard; you da man! And I can't believe that so many people do not get it! Is the world of art so filled with uptight and pretensious posers that cannot understand that they are being tweaked? (I know, bad form to ask and answer your own question.) Plus, after they slam you, when you firmly defend yourself and your images, they then act like they are the ones being attacked!

My word to them is: "Lighten up!" Or "Get a life!" Whichever is more appropiate.

Third, years ago I had a T-shirt that said "Art doesn't have to match the sofa".

You need a shirt that reads "Photographs are not just for calendars".

I look forward to all that you post; keep it coming, and the critics be damned!

Glenwood
