Ballet performance

Lack of sharpness is present, especially on the female player, but it doesn't count much here, not a close up. The culmination of the movement captured well and that's it! Nice B&W tones, maybe over contrasted a little and the dots or spots on the floor should be erased, no matter where they come from.

i think you captured the essence of the dance. compositionally perfect. softness doesn't bother me at all. hope all is well with you. i've been charging my creative batteries for a little while. too much PN and not enough new shooting was burning me out. anyway, glad to be back. take care, J.K.

Thanks Pierre, Ivana, and JK for stopping by. Yes, many of the images from the ballet the other night were not as sharp as I wanted....I am assuming it is due to not being able to use a tripod, shooting at ISO 1600, and action shots. Pierre the "dots on the floor" are actually chalk marks, which the dancers apply to the front of their slippers, thus an element of the performance which I wanted to portray. Classic, Lesa. I like this, I like the softness, I like the b&w. The pose is what really makes it for me, though. Nicely done. I finally had a bit of time to browse your port and although there is a ton I'd like to comment on today, this is the one I HAD to comment on! :) Good choice for a square crop.
