aepelbacher 0 Posted March 12, 2007 I felt like pulling from some of my Colorado Springs shots. I uploaded another from the same morning awhile back. It's probably a better shot, but I wanted to try this one, too. A bit closer up, possibly a bit more abstract. Thoughts? Link to comment
laurentbaig 0 Posted March 12, 2007 I like the composition although I think a pano crop of this (from the bottom) kind of accentuates the curves of the rock. For some reason, this appears a bit soft to me, though it might just be me looking at a monitor too long. I'd be curious to see this with a black and white conversion as well. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted March 13, 2007 Thanks for the idea, Laurent - here is a B&W version of the same shot. What do you think? Link to comment
afs760bf 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Hi, Lou Ann, I was in Colorado Springs about a year ago now, and took a lot of pictures of this area. My problem is that it's so impressive in person that I couldn't find any pics that do it justice. The only one I was hoping would really turn out was one of a climber about half way up one of the rock faces, but the shadows were such that the final outcome wasn't good, either. So one of these days I'm going to have to go back there and see if I can take a decent picture. Cheers Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 25, 2007 We go right by there on our trips to Canada and have always wanted to stop. I can see now we definitely need to do so - looks like a very interesting place! Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Oh, Kim - you HAVE to stop there! And give yourself a couple of hours to drive around and hike around if you can. There are usually gobs of people around, so try to maybe plan an overnight in Colorado Springs and then get to the park (which is right IN Colorado Springs) early in the morning. It's gorgeous there!
