malbuquerque 0 Posted March 11, 2007 This is the type of shot you'll see a lot of, but you made it very special with the warm tones and the use of the waves to add to the composition. I like how the wave lines are slightly blured, as it gives an interesting mood to the image. Very nice work. Link to comment
yttergaarden. 0 Posted March 11, 2007 Wow , what a wonderful image you presents here. It is very well composed and the exposure, colours/tones are just magnificent. Congrats and regards from Lennart KV. Link to comment
tylerwind 0 Posted March 12, 2007 Marcelo and Lennart--Thank you for your kind words...they are definitely appreciated! I realize this image is pretty basic and not a show stopper but as humbly as I can say so, I liked it for the same reasons you guys mentioned, namely, the warm pleasant tones, the foreground curves of the water, and the blur of the water. (I had to get my feet wet to get the shot!) Thanks again for stopping by to comment and leaving your kind thoughts--I appreciate them tremendously! Link to comment
j.k._york 0 Posted March 13, 2007 Tyler, I think you have it here. your repost with the top down crop doesn't work for me, its too tight to the pier. here the sky has its 2/3rds balance over the water. the tones here are subtle, natural. well done. regards, J.K. Link to comment
tylerwind 0 Posted March 13, 2007 JK--Thank you for your kind words and comments. I keep going back and forth...at heart I'm a "lot of sky" type of shooter but I'm trying to balance that fetish with using my new wide angle lens. I can see where some people would like the foreground detail in the crop better and see the empty orange sky as a flaw in this shot. However, I also see how the crop is tight on the pier and like I said, I'm generally always in favor of 2/3 sky instead of 2/3 foreground! Thanks for stopping by to voice your opinion--I value it greatly! Link to comment
