arjen van de merwe 0 Posted March 16, 2007 It is a cute moment. On camera flash is not good lighting for portraits, or most other subjects. Link to comment
grego1 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Hi Claire, i think you captured his personality over here. you're looking at the ape on his shoulder and then into his eyes and you can see some kind of peace. about lighting - sometimes you just can't set up your BOWENS/ELINCHROM/HEDLER or whatever you normally use and spent an hour taking photo that will satisfy you; sometimes you just have a few seconds only to capture something like you've captured - and it's great. the choice: to try to take 7/7 photo with perfect lighting that says nothing (and there is possibility that you may fail) or just fire the shuter and take 6/7 photo that says a lot... great photo to me. best regards. grego Link to comment
claire 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Thank you very much Greg. I just loved the expressions and the fact the little guy was chewing on an earring with a cheeky pose. Never worked in perfect lab conditions - it's always just me and my camera. No fancy stuff! Thanks for your input. Claire Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted March 17, 2007 Almost dead center with your named subject, Claire. The monkey's face is competing with the large leaf vegetation to the right, and his friend to the left. And the friend's gaze attracts too much attention, with nothing to see, in the direction his gaze is fixed. I didn't do a very neat job of the cloning, and your files are really small, but it illustrates what I'm thinking. As usual, you have good, interesting content. Link to comment
