Thanks Ivana and Mohammad!

I don't normally take this type of photo but, the colors of the setting sun were awesome and the scene, well...

And because there are cows in front of the plant I'm guessing this it NOT near Tacoma? Were you on a boat or across the shore? A nice sunset photo on the plant but I would not have seen The Mountain except for the title.

This is a strong environmental portrait of what's wrong with this country....yet the industry that we foster is important to our lifestyles, where do we draw the line?! The colors are wonderful yet they have that "murky" look of pollution. I hope to hit the road South in the next couple days, just had to take one last look at PN.

Shawn, we were in Anacortes when I took this photo. It was not a planned photo but the lighting was too good. Two issues with the mountain, the clouds below the peak kind of disguise it and heat generated by the plant made it impossible to get in clear focus.

Susan, when I posted for ratings, I knew that there would be low rating from possibly those that don't believe there's global warming and those that understand the spot we're in. We complain about it but don't want to live without it. Amazing how many activists, here in Oregon, drive an SUV ~ "well, it's a toyota!".

Mount Rainier was to my right as we drove miles along the I-5 on our way home, but I never did get a good shot of it. I have a few of these 'mill' or 'industrial' shots from most of my holidays. Of course, we all need the power generated by these plants. I also have shots of windmill power generators, too. In England, and the US. Shots of a beautifull sunsets created in Campbell River, BC by the pulp mill smoke; and in Europe by all the industrial pollution.

What we read currently in the news sounds scary, but consider Mount Vesusvius and how it wiped out Pompei and buried it in ash 2000 years ago. My husband says that when we can control the volcanoes we might have some control over our climate.

I think the politicians are making the most of the green ticket right now. I think the Earth goes through cycles over long periods of time. Whether we are speeding up or causing the 'warming' is questionable. Consider that there is evidence of polar flips in the distant past. Man's effects on the earth's cycles, I think, are only as big as our egos allow us to be.

Did I say == excellent documentary shot. Very good light and composition. There is an atmosphere (pardon the pun) that draws me into the photo and makes me stay awhile to view. I really like this one.
