This is very well done, Pnina. The composition is both balanced and very dynamic, but with exceptional clarity where you have to have it. The overall mood is really intriguing. This is one of your very best, in my opinion.

I wish that you would solicit ratings on this one so that I could be proud to have it pop up on my page.

Thanks, Catalin, Francesco, Richard and Lannie.

Lannie, thanks for your very nice comment, I would have done your request, but I stoped using the rating system at least for the time being, I'm tired of seeing that each!! of my images get 3/3's a second after uploading I think it is a shame. I don't think it represent a real evaluation of any work, mine included. I don't like other things at the net, and I stay because my collection here serves me as a catalogue of my work, and some of my selling I sell to people that ask to buy after seeing photos here. also for people like you that are writing their impressions.

Thanks again Lannie, and all of you.

Thanks, Pnina, and, believe me, I understand. Some of my best work gets the 3,3 treatment, and my junky stuff gets sixes.

Excellent and a very striking picture. The contrast between the absolute sharpness of the front dancer and the almost phantom image of the dancer to the rear produces the most unusual effect. You certainly have gotten your money's worth from the series on dance (or perhaps it's they who have gotten their money's worth!)

I have to agree with you and Lannie that the quality of photographic commentary on P.Net seems to have slipped lately with many of my favorite photographers with whom I used to exchange opinions no longer posting regularly. It's very frustrating.

This is a very well executed piece, Pnina. The phantom behind bringing out the beauty of the dancer forefront. Anf I agree one of your very best in the dance seris. ( As for the 3s, I will advise you not to bother about them. I am already immune to them & can't be bothered already. I still post for the purpose of more exposure & views. I read for comments & ratings is now, just secondary to me, maybe also a gauge of the general public's likes & dislikes. )

Thanks Alix, Jack and Cherlyn.

Jack you are right, absolutly right!

And Cherlyn, I work hard on my photography, I don't agree that someone will go to it a second!! after I have uploaded it and will put a 3's without writing why. I don't think every one needs to like my work, but I don't think that EVERY image of mine deserve the low rating. I have come to the conclution that the rating system does not help me, so I have decided to avoid it completely. I will stop giving numbers to images only comments if I decide that I have what to say.

Timing, quality, light and exposure, passion, impression, movement, emotion. Everything perfect. Congratulations to Pnina.

As for ratings, I rate a picture only when I want to include it for one reason or another in my portfolio of favorite pictures, otherwise I rely on comments to express my feelings. 3's used to bother me because they're almost always anonymous and I have no idea what standard the viewer is using to rate my photos. Viewers who rate 6 or 7 usually leave their names and it's possible to view their portfolios and understand their point of view. Far worse is when a picture elicits no reaction of any kind, no comments and few or no ratings. Then you feel as if you have suddenly become invisible. When a picture collects a wide range of ratings it means that it is succesful, dynamic and on the creative cusp and therefore sure to leave a good number of less adventurous souls behind. The role of the artist must not be to pursue wide public acceptance; that is the path to creative death. Excuse me for going on and on but you know what a talker I am.

Excuse me, when I mention, that both of you do not need any rating(s). You are acclaimed as Creative and Thinking Photographers, all over the world.Your portfolios are replete with appreciations by renowned photographers and connoisseurs of photography. A philisitine will always despise or undervalue Art & Beauty. I am an admirer of your creative images, though it may sound like flattery.

This image is a testimony to your creative talent and technical excellence,Pnina.

It was a subject talked about, time and again in the feeback forum. I understand your logic and agree, but I myself am tired of the rating system, I have no aspiration for the front page or TRP, I keep it only as a catalogue of my work as I wrote before, and I'm interested in comments from people like you and others . People that are taking the time to LOOK and write. They are looking at least at the image, not throwing the numbers, I'm sure without even looking at what it means or want to express., as it is always a second after upload and always the first to go in....

So for the time being I will ask for Critique only, if things will change I may change my mind. Thanks for writing again Jack, Good to really talk to you.

Michael, Jim and Kelvin, Thanks a lot, I appreciate your comments.

Thanks, I nearly missed your comment ;-)) sow it now. our appreciation is reciprocal you know it., and good that we follow each others works.

Thanks God that there are still good photographwers , creative , which I appteciate getting their point of view , as it has a meaning. I'm open to get and give critique, but I would like it to be meaningful as I try to do when I write. Thanks Amal my friend!

I can understand how you feel, Pnina, as I think many photographers in PN feel the same, including me. But it's a repeatitive topic that one is getting tired of & I do not discuss nor response to it much nowadays. I have 3sets annoymouns 3/3s in my latest photo but I just have to ignore them as long as I like & have confidence & believe in my own photos. I beleive true PN critiques & friends will point out to me any shortcomings or room of improvement when necessary. We post to share our experience & to learn & benefit. Please continue to do what you seem deem fit as there are many who appreciates & love your photos, including me.

Thanks again, I will continue to upload my work, but will not ask for ratings anymore, at least for sometime.

I know the value of my work, but I still think that you learn, and feedback is importent to develop and do the best you can. Critique helps when it has a meaning, the rating as is now does not tell me anything and therefor I will stick to critique only.

You know that I follow your work as I like what you do, and I try my comment to tell you and other what I feel. I will continue to do so.

rage and furry together with grace and aesthetism...I like the tension in this image...you have frozen it at an intense moment yet leaving the movement to continue...
