You have better images than this. You did a really bad job extracting or making a selection around these girls. I don't understand why you received a high rating for this image.

I saw your portfolio and they are very few good picture which I rated the only one I like. Actually, we, photographer have a different taste about all pictures in here, for instance, I don't know how come you got that rating for the "Mean Cow" for me, the colors are not right and is in the center. (A 4/4 to me) please don't be so jealous. this place is to make friend, learn and respect each other

If you didn't want constructive criticism, why did you post this in the critique forum?????? This TO ME is a very crappy picture. Like I said before you have better images than this and you did a very poor job using the extraction tool or selection tool. You can see the ragged lines in the shadow and around the hands and feet. In particular between the arm and hip of the girl in blue is a big chunk of the background you forgot to eliminate. How on earth can you really learn if your ego is so proud of your high ratings? I've seen outstanding images being torn apart by teachers in school. Why? So the students can learn and become better photog's. This is not a blog and I am not here to make friends. I am here to learn from my mistakes and maybe help someone else be a better photog. "WOW", "GREAT IMAGE", "I LOVE THIS", "YOU'RE THE BEST PHOTOG EVER", "7/7" are all words that are not going to help you GROW. ESPECIALLY if it's a weak image. There are many photographers out there whom I'm jealous and envious of......they have some F@#KEN amazing images!! I'm sorry, as much as it hurts me, you are not one of them.

You should really listen to yourself. Go ahead, send this image to an Editor. I dare you. I would LOVE to hear what they think. I am done. Don't waste any more of my energy.

Guys, please!! Susan is right, it is not a great photo and we are here to critique and learn - believe me I've been cut to bits by people on this site. At the end of the day though, I am sure Juan is proud of this shot and let's not take the fun out of photography - even if we do not all agree!

Usually I take comments based in who is commenting on my picture in other word, i go immediately to his or her portfolio just to see how great this person is and if you check all the 5/5, 6/6 from all top photographer who rated this picture, this is to me all I care about (A bad photographer can't judge a good picture as well as a great one)I don't think this is one of my best and I just did it for fun, if you have see my portfolio you'll see that, but I'm proud that great Photographer such as Julio Carmona which is one of the best in here (Landscape) Amy Rich and others, had giving me a high rate and that is all I care about period.

Ok, I am going to tell you a little bit about JUAN.

Juan has different MODES.

There is JUAN the funny guy! 3/3 man ~ way FUNNY

There is JAUN who does the cool computer graphics with his kids and beaches and such where he is learning to do stuff like this... still in some of the learning phases and THIS is getting MUCH better and I am still in awe of what he can do and THIS is where we encourage and BELIEVE me here on PN, THIS is WAY better than most people do and THIS is actually a VERY GOOD capture because the PICTURE itself is NOT framed (thank God as it would have ruined the picture) and it has movement and shadows in it. This is a picture that could use a little more work but that is what we are here for to encourage and give constructive critiques so GIVE the POSTIVIES and the CRITIQUE as well. TALK about the good points and mention what needs to be worked on. DON'T just shout out the bad points and be on your merry way as you will not win friends that way. TRUST ME!

THEN there is the JUAN who is probably one of the BEST, and I MEAN BEST PHOTOGRAPHERS on PN (in my humble opinion) if you were to LOOK at his whole portfolio which you should have done after you looked at ONE PICTURE and commented harshly. HERE look at THIS picture and look at the way he captured her in this moment.He is excellent at PORTRAITS and weddings and such!

Susan, when you say something about one picture in a critique way, and yes this would not be a 6/6 for me but probably more a 5/5 as I have seen him do better things but HE CAPTURED the girls in a GREAT way and as a mom this shows EMOTION and that deserves a 5 and the origionality alone makes it a 5! BUT, after you critique this way you SHOULD pick out two more pictures you think are FANTASTIC and say something wonderful about them (this is of course what I think) and that way you have made a friend and they TRUST your opinion and understand that you are not just NIT picking their pictures apart but giving CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM.

Of course this is all just my opinion... I don't EVER hold grudges and only rate and critique photo's and NOT the person.
