Violent Ward

LARGE looks best! This is the end of a hallway in the violent ward at

an old insane asylum; even rooms not used for seclusion purposes have

doors of heavy steel mesh.

I like this image - it sure has a history doesn't it! I am curious how you got access to this place. But other than the interest it holds, I also like the light you have captured through the open doorway - almost like the patients/inmates have found their way to freedom (literally and figuratively-my sister suffers schizophrenia and it is a devastating disease from which there is no escape from the constant horror of the dark recesses of her mind) Thank you for sharing this.

These asylums are so ultra creepy. Imagine what it must have been like living there, even if it was maintained while in use. I get the impression of horrors committed. These places closed down for a reason, and I've heard of graphic accounts of brutal treatment in these places. Nicely captured by you and I'm glad you used a subtle hand in not oversaturating it.
