I have often felt that the biggest benefit of this site, at least

for me, is as a glorified negatives dump. This is not to devalue its

other qualities, especially for the few of us that use it to promote

their commercial enterprise. But, you have to understand that I was

never a professional at this, but was, and remain, at most, an avid

hack. I am also a notorious procrastinator and slacker, and in my

more than 20 years of shooting pictures, have never entered a

contest nor won any awards. Photography to me has always been a

personal pursuit, an intense one no doubt, but a personal one. The

effect of this, of course, is that I have accumulated over the years

a huge burden of negatives like this one, all just sitting there

collecting dust and being of no use to anyone. This, then, I must

say, is the biggest benefit of this site to me, as a place to go and

offload my images. I don't bother to kid myself that all of these

images would be winners or rated highly, but to me, getting them off

my chest, so to speak, in of itself, is the triumph.
