As much as I'd love to accept the comments about it being an original approach I should probably point out that I pretty much got the idea from the works of David Hockney (amongst others). It's a really fun way of working though. I used to do it years ago with film and, having just started to get into digital (and get back into photography in general), it's fascinating doing it with digital. Link to comment
