k5083 1 Posted March 6, 2007 The only time I ever saw a Concorde display routine was over the Toronto waterfront in 1987. Conditions for photography were poor: backlit and with a thick haze that made the sky almost pure white. I did the best I could, figuring the pics were write-offs. When I got them back I felt that the Concorde ones had a ghostly quality that I quite liked. I have added two of them to my gallery; I'll submit the other for critique in a couple of days. It took a lot of work to get these scans to look as closely as possible like the original slides. Please let me know what you think. Link to comment
alex_kew 0 Posted March 6, 2007 A better background is desparately needed! I'd be very tempted to employ PS to help out here... I wish I'd taken more pics of this fantastic machine at airshows - but that was in my pre-digital days, and as I used to see it quite often at Heathrow, I chose to conserve my film. Sigh! k5083 1 Posted March 8, 2007 Alex, I hear what you're saying; you're not on board with what I saw in this picture and why I posted it. I have Concorde shots with "better" backgrounds but those are just conventional ground-to-air pictures (yawn). Here I thought the white on white made a mood that I liked. Nobody seems to agree though. Link to comment
lburk1 0 Posted March 21, 2007 I somewhat agree with what Alex is saying. By maintaining the gray/white background I feel you lose some of the sharpness of the great lines of this SST. Look at the deflected right aieleron. With a different background contrast that you come out better. I wouldn't change the gray/white completely-just a touch to bring out the lines. Link to comment
