yinkamd 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Gady, I humbly and respectfully disagree. This is OUSTANDING in all ways. Tore, mind sharing how you did this? Congratulations. Yinka Link to comment
tore 10 Posted March 3, 2007 I can see what Gady means the post process is not as good as it can be. There is some details that could be done better.(I made some small fix on this problem now) How its done, two flashes one with a grid on the hair and one with a big umbrella in front. The post process is Gaussian blur on the skin in steps make a selection of the skin and contrast it in steps. Then there is a hi pass filter on top to bring back the detail if the skin again. Its described in this book. http://www.amesphoto.com/ Best regards Tore Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 3, 2007 I really liked this image, specially the back light effect on the left of the head, given that golden tone and adding a great impact to this well cropped portrait. I have noticed many people go for the Gaussian blur to acheive softnening effect and they end with un satesfactory result. I use imagingfactory soft focus plug-in working digital and where, there is no room for adding a soft filter on my lens during the capture of a portrait face, or even some times I have to switch to a soft focus lens of 85MM range, manual lens from canon with 3 different settings. Other wise this image, as I said, remain as good as I have viewed it the first time, I like it. Rashed Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted March 4, 2007 Hi Tore. I really like the outcome of this shot. Dramatic lighting that gives the photo a lot of character and depth. Thanks for sharing the post-processing. As you know, I'm an avid student of PS techniques ;)Mark Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted August 31, 2011 Tore, I was just going through the random image generator and this portrait popped up...you have so many gems in your portfolio...such is the case with this image. I really like the moody low key feel of this portrait...wonderful pose and expression...her cut back eyes are very alluring. Perfectly lit and nicely composed...I really like the catch light in her eyes and the hight lights and color on her lips. Nicely captured. Link to comment
