Superbly done - your tones are excellent for this subject and composition is wonderful - lighting also bang on.

I really like the composition here - the rail is perspefctly used. Lith, picture, geometry of arcs. Good photo.

Nice shot, good composition. It is the tone really brings it alive for me. If I had to find fault, it would be in the strong reflections on the picture... I doubt you had enough available light for a polariser though, so it really is just nitpicking on my part!

Thank you for your kind comments.

As far as the reflection on the photo, I think you are right. It's funny, I was going to dodge it a bit to soften the reflection, but after a while the reflection started to grow on me. It was the outside trying to creep in to this isolated place. That's probably overly symbolic. In any case, thank you for your kind comments.

Really beautiful geometry, lines and patterns in this image, I love it! Very nice exposure. The railing leads one through the photo very nicely.

this is really beautiful! I love the soft tones and the gorgeous architecture. So many beautiful, yet somehow simple, details. As mentioned above, the railing is really great. Very nicely composed.

Did you alter the contrast in the background? For some reason, and I can't understand why, it looks so 2-D, like a cross between a paintings and real life. It makes the lamp even more ghostly, like it is hanging on the scene, rather than in it. I wonder if this is the effect you were looking for. I find it very interesting and makes me look at it for longer.

Hi Lucy, I am glad that the photo has caught your attention. The processing was not that agressive. There was no selective change of contrast. The processing including image-wide reduction of saturation, modification of levels, and application of an unsharp mask.

I like your photograph a lot, your composition is excellent and the limited range of colors gives a very interesting mood to this room. A detail: one can see a reflection on the picture on the left wall (NW corner).

very balanced composition. Radiates the solemn silence that prevails in a library. cheers Jana

Very fine composition with attention and care for every detail. I can't tell whether it is in color or monochrome, which is a great effect. I like the two "human" figures that become almost real in the emptiness of the place. Excellent.
