josylvestre 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Beautiful composition ! Good ligthning and colors ! The only thing I don't like is the background you've done with photoshop. It don't look natural and its not very well done. Also, YOU SHOULD say that in the description of your photo. I would like to see the unmodified photo. Im sure this is a great photo. You have so wonderful photos in your portfolio ! Link to comment
Dieter Schaefer 20,103 Posted March 2, 2007 Excellent detail and focus, very well composed. Would be amazed if this is not the original background. Regards, Dieter Link to comment

mary fran 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Had to come back, I shouldn't answer for you Bill, but I've gotten some amazing bokeh on Goldfinches if I'm up really up close with my 400mm on the 30D--and they don't look "real" either! Link to comment
bgeg 0 Posted March 3, 2007 The bokeh in this photo is for the most part natural, there were 2 OOF branches, one lower left and one upper right that were cloned to match the rest of the background, IMHO bokeh is a friend and the 100/400 lens that I use does a pretty good job when exposed between 5.6 & 7.1 this was taken at 6.3 in late afternoon light the background is from across a small ravine covered with winter creeper & leaves. The Female Cardinal that I will post today is 100% natural with a similar bokeh taken at 6.3. Thanks for your comments. B. Link to comment
