This one I messed around with photoshop a bit, just curious on what people think about this. The paint was fun!

Julie!

I had to come back here to take a second look at this, at first I wasn't so sure about your use of the vignette effect, but somehow I think it works on this, it must be because of the tilt of her head, but anyway, I noticed in your portfolio that you are working with differing posses and such, and thought I would offer you some suggestions or exercises "if you will" if you are interested that is!

I think you have a good eye and would make a wonderful pro portrait photographer once you have mastered the craft, so with that in mind, one thing that would help you to grow as a portrait photographer is to work with themes!

Take this shot for example "without the Photoshop add ins of course" there are so many ways that you could vary this theme "WET PAINT" although I love the provocative look in your subjects face, there is a world of other looks or emotions that could also come into play with this theme, suck as surprise, when someone has realized that they have just sat on a bench that has just been freshly painted, or oops, well I'll leave the rest to your imagination! :O)

I'm going to check back on you from time to time, as I think you have a good start on a very interesting portfolio!

Good luck, and have fun!

I appreciate your advise VERY MUCH. Thankyou for taking the time. I have actually been doing themes. I just havent posted any of them because I am not 100% happy with the lighting ect. I have like 700 different paint pictures I could post lol If you have any other suggestions for themes, well I would be all ears. Every thursday night my friend in the pic and I get together to brainstorm for new ideas. I buy different types of clothes ect that is kinda different, that you normally wouldn't see in a photo shoot. Just havent again posted any. I just got the studio lighting and my head is spinning because I haven't mastered them. Actually I feel those are only good for portraits. Anyways if you want to email me some suggestions, I WILL work on props ect to make it happen. Then you can see your ideas unfold as I try to shoot them. It would be a nice challenge for me. Thanks again for the time you have taken to help me out.

Well! I'M not much of a portrait photographer myself, even though I do understand the craft, but I could give it some thought! :O)

Heres a few just off the top of my head: "peasant girl", in every culture around the world there are so called peasants, you could do themes on different cultures, "olden days", say like the turn of the century "1800-1900" middle ages, biblical times "Greek, Roman," Ah, heres a good one that I think your model here would fit right into "Viking warrior woman" :O)

Good luck, have fun!

All my studio/still life shots where done using studio strobes "Except where noted" there are no rules to studio strobe lighting, just mere guide lines that can be ignored in most cases, experimentation and practice will give you your own style of using them!
