a unique classic image that has made the best use of lines, shape, tonality, and color.

First of all, the parallel horizontal lines rising to the 1/3 of the frame is a classic composition in visual regime which emphasizes the tranquility and peace as inseparable attribute of horizontal lines. the composition of lines is in proper compliance with the mood that this wonderful shot is invoking in us.

The shape of the tree is yet another point to discuss. The shape of the tree displays a fuzzy branching atop a vertical stem. The fuzziness classically creates a superb balance for the rest of the frame. The tree is placed on the golden mean and near the core of the golden spiral creating compositional sharpness ( Gestalt sharpening principle) with an unfailing gravity which immediately grabs our attention and pinpoints it there.

The tonality range here displays very good dynamic range and a very wide tones from stem to stern although the clouds are a bit overexposed.

The color is very harmonic analogous color scheme which works best toward invocation of a phlegmatic feeling in us. Both of these colors ( blue and green) are cool and receding in quality, so our perception is that of stability and phlegm.

Aesthetic and graphical details apart, Antonio has brought about an image of the inherent natural principle: the principle of movement ( as shown by the spear-tipped clouds all moving in one direction to create unity which assists the continuation of the visual path in one definite direction) against the stability and stagnation. with the lower 1/3 of the frame looking so static and unmoving. This is a very unique opportunity to view this image not as separated individual elements , but to put together all the elements in unison to boost mood and to understand how nature counterbalances opposing forces to achieve harmony, and unity.

Hi Antonio

All I can say is that first its very striking to the eye. I also like the sky and the good capture of it. the clouds and formations. The tree in the late foreground is required and makes the picture. I have a book about photographing landscapes next to my bed and this picture is simular to the examples they explain. Super shot best regards, Carl
