I think this is a great portrait. You've managed to capture a great expression, the background lighting adds to the depth and mystique of the photo, you've got some detail and depth in all the very dark areas, with his hat standing out even in a dark portion of the photo, his beard is incredibly subtle. Couldn't ask for more.
