This is a very classic and tender frame of a very beautiful child, your selective sepia dynamic tones are working great and contribute to the entire impression, I think that if here eyes were looking at you during the act of photography then the notion would have been more powerful.

Thanks, Ivana, Alpo, Michael, Vittorio and Gady, I'm so glad you like it :)

Gady, she was actually looking down to watch her brother writing on the sand, I guess that's why she got that tender expression. If she looks at my camera, it will be a completely different expression. But thanks a lot for your suggestion, appreciate it!

This is definitely your style, Teresa. A child captured in the most natural candid way without any pretentions. I like it.

Teresa, I would like to clarify my previous post , For me as a viewer (and probably for others) I am not aware of the entire situation as you experienced it during the act of photography, The camera lens catches all that is viewable but can not catch our emotions, feelings and sentiment nor the surrounding situations that has made us press the shutter release button - I am impressed by what I see in a presented photograph, my suggestion was based on the frame as is ? as I viewed it (with no additional informative details as you post explained), Though, if she is looking down there must be a reason , in such case I as a viewer need to see something to make me recognize why she is looking down , for some this alone could be the most interesting item in the frame, My self I lost interest when I watched long time on your post so I thought that a simple hint why she is looking down could do the difference , since I did not found this indication I had to make my suggestion (which is based on my feelings). A direct look is something we are familiar on a daily basis when we meet and see others so it has become a ?universal? object and this is one of the reasons why direct look most of the time is more pleasing in photography .

Dear All, appreciate very much your comments, you're all so kind :)

Gady, I just feel a good photo should be like a good painting, open to viewers' own interpretations. Different people will see it differently based on their own experiences. If the photo doesn't arouse any feelings, then that's my fault as a photographer. Giving an explanation may sometimes help, but also runs the risk of limiting the viewers' to just one perspective. That's my belief anyway. As to the eyes, I guess you won't like my other photos then, as some of them have the back to us :) Thanks again anyway!

Beautifull children's portrait. So lively and lovely. I also like your use of those sepia tints for those kind of portraits
