donnaalbers 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Hi Kim, I had these confused with stilts and thought they had red legs. . they really are blue grey. . shooting on overcast days makes these shots low in contrast but I like the effect. . Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Overcast days are probably better for keeping the whites not blown out and showing all the detail in the feathers and water. Link to comment
rcamposv 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Rating system on this site is a joke. How can anyone give this shot a 4/4 Possibly these guys have never experienced about photographing birds, and hide themselves as anonymous to avoid giving ridicule explanations. I wonder whether it's possible that Photo.net can control this situation . Hope you'll ignore the 4/4's. Most of us appreciate your work. Regards! Link to comment
Dieter Schaefer 20,183 Posted February 26, 2007 Very nicely captured, Donna. Overcast days make it easier to avoid the blown-out whites that happy easily on a sunny day; contrast can always be increased later in post-processing, at least to some extent. I just like it the way it is and wouldn't change anything. Regards, Dieter Link to comment

donnaalbers 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Hi guys, thanks for your comments and your support. I've been a PN member for a number of years now and have developed a relatively thick skin when it comes to ratings. I considered posting this in another category but wasn't sure where to put it. Guest Guest Posted February 26, 2007 I like these thiny and elegant birds like your Avocet dear Donna :) Thank you for stopping by my raw woman emotion! I was in such mood that day :( Biliana Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted March 12, 2007 I like how it seems to be carefully tiptoeing across the water & the square format. Link to comment
