alight 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Kim, the bird is nice and the colours look good. The twigs that are growing out of its back don't add to the photo positively, IMHO. How about masking them and blurring them, or cloning them out? Also, I wonder if there is too much of that foreground, over-powering the bird. I do like that the foreground is tilted. To my taste the frame looks kinda theatrical. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 26, 2007 I'm thinking of taking the clippers out next time we go to remove some of the background twigs. They are quite distracting, I think. Link to comment
Coastie 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Nice shot Kim, these are really hard birds to shoot as they tend to scurry to the opposite side of the tree very quickly. Congrats on a super capture. ~jerry Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted February 28, 2007 Nice one. The twigs aren't that bad, imo. Is this a female Red Bellied? I was able to get this male shooting thru our dirty windows this afternoon. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 28, 2007 This was a male, but I can't remember the kind right now - I'll look it up this evening. The female was also around and she didn't have the red spot on the top of her head like the male did. Link to comment
anthonyd 0 Posted February 28, 2007 Amazing detail Kim! Only the closest twigs are a little distracting to me. I like the ones that are blurred. Had he been a bit over to the right, I don't think the closest ones would bother me at all. -Anthony Link to comment
shadow-island 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Nice detail and color. How's things down south? Keep up the great work. Michael Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Thanks, all. Michael, things are going well; we're in a Wildlife Contest, so that's been fun. It goes thru the end of June. Link to comment
