alight 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Kim, a great catch. Did you do lots of cropping, or did you actually zoom in so much? Nice sharpness and detail, nice colour. It's great to actually see what the dude is holding in its beak. I don't like the thick frame. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Lots of cropping - I was just happy it held up. I love the D200! Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted February 26, 2007 I like the bright eye and the softness of the feathers and the red, of course, gives it some punch. . Link to comment
Dieter Schaefer 20,046 Posted February 26, 2007 Well done, Kim. Good detail and focus. I have mixed feeling about frames, some like them because they give a finished look to the image, others don't since they can distract too much from the actual image. In this case I agree with Michael; the thick black is a bit too much. Regards, Dieter Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 26, 2007 I frame because I like to picture how the image would look on a wall. However, to be honest, if I was framing this one, I would be using a white mat and a black frame. I'll have to try it that way and repost for comparison. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Beautiful! I've been seeing dozens of cardinals, but no good photos like this. I'm enjoying your great state of Texas. It does have an atmosphere all its own! Tonight we're going to La Fogata on your recommendation...I'll let you know how it turns out! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 28, 2007 It's my adopted state, actually, since I'm Canadian. Lots of birds around this area; we are known as the "birdiest city". Let me know how you like the restaurant. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 2, 2007 I know you're Canadian, but you should have enough Texas in you by now to have some claim to it! La Fogata was great; we even had the queso flameado stuff, and it was delicious. Thanks again for the recommendation! Link to comment
