Ruby Beach Close Call

I had just stepped up on a large driftwood log to get another perspective when a random

large wave washed up much higher than any that we'd seen in our half hour on the beach. I

was lucky to snap this shot instead of getting myself, my tripod, and camera knocked over

and drenched!

Jim, thanks for your comment on my version of this same place. The ND 3.0 filter is a lot of fun, and I'm just learning how to apply it to different sea and sky conditions. I didn't get wet here at Ruby, but I did catch a soaker when a big wave hit the rock I was standing on down at Beach 3 (which, by the way in case you've never been there, is great for photography; it's my alternative until they re-open Second Beach).
