jim craig 0 Posted February 23, 2007 Very nice Linda, great colors and nicely composed. Too bad about the blown out sky though, a GND filter would have helped possibly. regards, jim Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted February 23, 2007 Thanks for taking the time to comment on this. I'm sorry, I have a lot to learn, I don't know what you mean by a blown out sky? What is a GND filter and what would it do? Link to comment

laurentbaig 0 Posted February 23, 2007 This is really nice. The sky is a quite bit blown out. I don't know if you have enough detail there to bring it back down. Stuff like this is where either shooting a couple exposures and then blending in PS or using a soft graduated filter comes in handy. I really like the image other than that. Link to comment
clayton_berg 0 Posted February 23, 2007 Linda, by blown out sky he means that the sky is too bright in comparison to the forground. A GND (graduated neutral density) filter is a filter that is a stop or so darker on one half of it than the other, allowing you to correctly expose for the entire frame. Or like stated before you could take a few different exposures of the same shot, some properly exposed for your forground and some for the sky and blend them using for example CS2's HDR feature. I am struck by the wonderful colours in this shot. Good composition too. Although the sky is a little blown out, I'm not overly bothered by it, in fact it almost adds a pleasing dynamic. tgood 0 Posted March 27, 2007 Linda, this is an amazing photo. To start, the scene is packed full of interesting and complimentary elements. Then, the colors, from the dark blue sky, the firey red tree to the green and gold grass, are brilliant. The warming effect is perfect here. This is just one of so many awsome photos you have shared... Thank You. Link to comment
richygale 0 Posted April 12, 2007 The contrasting colours and the lovely sky are the icing on the cake of this wonderful image. Rich. Link to comment
jeverz 0 Posted April 13, 2007 How beautiful those colors! (Thanks for your comment Linda, to answer your question; the rat on the photo is not the same one as the one with the spoon, its his brother. he likes to lay down under everything, the other one wants to try things out :) Greetings! Pierre Dumas 258 Posted May 24, 2007 ...but over saturation all around! Maybe shifting to the left a bit would make the composition more balanced! And the clear white on the sky distracts a bit! I'm trying to imagine how it would look without the fancy frame with embossed stroke and almost screaming color. It can and probably is changing a lot in the general impression! For instance I could have not made the remark about the over saturation if there wasn't a stroke at all or if it was a simple dark gray one! And to add this: Abandonment isn't a jolly notion, it isn't new year or something like it to be fancy decorated! I'm not talking about something ethically inappropriate! I'm talking about functionality! The fancy decoration hides the purpose of the image! PDE Link to comment
